Iatrogenic injury of aortic valve leaflet during mitral valve replacement: A transesophageal echocardiographic finding

چکیده

Iatrogenic aortic valve injury during non-aortic cardiac surgery is an infrequent complication. regurgitation (AR) has been reported after mitral repair, septal myomectomy, closure of the ventricular defect, and atrial defect repair. Various causes have for AR surgery. Perforation leaflet a common cause AR. Other are tension retraction due to inadvertent suture placement. A few previous case reports presented severe as complication iatrogenic involvement MV We report stenosis occurring immediately replacement. This was diagnosed intraoperatively by Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) replacement done.

Cardiac Gated Computed Tomography Used to Confirm Iatrogenic Aortic Valve Leaflet Perforation after Mitral Valve Replacement

Aortic insufficiency from iatrogenic valve perforation from nonaortic valve operations is rarely reported despite the prevalence of these procedures. Rapid diagnosis of these defects is essential to prevent deterioration of cardiac function. In this paper, we describe a young man who reported to our institution after two open cardiac surgeries with new aortic regurgitation found to be due to an...

Transesophageal echocardiographic imaging of multiple complications following mitral valve replacement

UNLABELLED We present a case of mitral valve (MV) replacement that resulted in multiple complications, as diagnosed by transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), including left ventricular outflow tract obstruction, aortic dissection and left ventricular rupture. We also describe that identification of bleeding originating from the posterior aspect of the heart by the surgical team should trigger ...

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: A Review Article

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a novel therapeutic intervention for the replacement of severely stenotic aortic valves in high-risk patients for standard surgical procedures. Since the initial PARTNER trial results, use of TAVR has been on the rise each year. New delivery methods and different valves have been developed and modified in order to promote the minimally invasive p...

Minimally invasive transaortic mitral valve repair during aortic valve replacement.

Herein, we report the case of a 77-year-old man who presented with congestive heart failure. Echocardiography and cardiac catheterization revealed severe aortic stenosis with severe mitral regurgitation and a left ventricular ejection fraction of 0.20. Because of comorbidities, the patient was considered to be at high risk for double-valve surgery. In order to reduce the operative risk, a minim...

Some advantages of transesophageal echocardiography during mitral valve replacement.

Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) was conducted during mitral valve replacement (MVR) in six cases. Two-dimensional echocardiography demonstrated the prosthetic valve as an ovalshaped, echogenic ring and highly echogenic disc which showed rhythmical to-and-fro movement. Using two-dimensional color Doppler echocardiography (2D-CD-TEE), the regurgitant flow was demonstrated as the toward flo...
